While it can be hard today to find farms that only offer grass fed milk, we at Swiss Villa are proud to say we partner with local farms in Pennsylvania that are 100% grass fed! We also offer organic grass fed cow butter and grass fed goat butter. 

Made from the milk of cows with the A2A2 gene, this naturally cultured grass-fed cow butter is nutritious and tasty! You can find it in both unsalted or salted options, for all your butter needs. Because the cows are solely grass-fed, this cow butter will have that farm fresh taste that our bodies are craving. 

If your gut can’t handle the lactose content in grass-fed cow butter, we have you covered! This creamy goat butter has lower lactose contents and is easy on the digestive system. Not to mention it is packed full of vitamins and nutrients that will balance your gut and leave your body satisfied. 

Our grass-fed cultured butter promotes a healthy gut and is made from pure cow’s milk without chemicals or preservatives added. After we collect the cream, we add live cultures to the cream which creates healthy bacteria. Plus, the healthy bacteria helps break down the fat globules, which creates a creamy, spreadable butter. If you are trying to lower your salt intake, we have an unsalted option or the traditional salted butter as well!

  1. Milk Collection and Pasteurization: First we collect fresh milk from cows and goats that have been only grass fed, and we gently pasteurize it to get rid of any unhealthy pathogens or bacteria. The milk then cools and the cream is separated out. 

2. Churning: Next we churn all the fresh cream and agitate the cream to create smooth delicious butter. If we are making cultured butter, we add live cultures and let it create healthy bacteria. 

3. Washing and Flavoring: Then we have to “wash” the butter with cold water to get rid of any remaining buttermilk. This step helps extend the shelf life of the butter. We also add celtic sea salt for maximum flavor into our salted options, or leave it unsalted. 

4. Packaging: Then we package it, label it, and sell it directly to you. Fresh grass-fed butter straight to your doorstep!

Yes, but pay attention to where you buy it from. Our butter is not extensively pasteurized, the milk has been gently pasteurized to get rid of unhealthy pathogens and bacteria.  Not all companies use gentle pasteurization techniques.
